Application Process 

  1. Initiate Contact:
    Begin your application by reaching out to the Admissions Office via WhatsApp +443308283168 or email admin@puafri.com to request for Payment Details.

  2. Application Fee Pay a non-refundable application fee.
  3. Proceed With Application:
    After making the required application fee payment, return to the Academics page and select your preferred program.

    • Complete the online application form via the Poise University admissions portal.

    • Upload all required documents.

    • Await confirmation and communication from the Admissions Office.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or equivalent examinations.

  • Specific programs may require credit passes in particular subjects (e.g., Biology for Nursing, Government for International Relations)

  • At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, school principal, or any academic referee who can attest to the applicant’s character and academic ability.
  • A valid means of identification (e.g., National ID, Passport, Birth Certificate).

  • Official copies of academic transcripts or school leaving certificates.

  • Evidence of English Language Proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or proof of English-medium instruction.
Masters Admission Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree Qualification

    • A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.A., B.Eng., or equivalent) from a recognized university with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division (2:2) or its international equivalent.

    • Applicants with a Third Class may be considered if they have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in a related field with a minimum of Upper Credit.

  • Academic Transcripts

    • Official academic transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be submitted directly to the Postgraduate School.

  • English Language Proficiency

    • For non-native English speakers or applicants from non-English speaking countries.

  • Statement of Purpose / Motivation Letter

    • A well-written statement (300–500 words) outlining your academic interests, career goals, motivation for pursuing the program, and how it aligns with your professional aspirations.

  • Letters of Recommendation

    • A letters from academic or professional referees who can speak to the applicant’s intellectual capacity, character, and suitability for graduate study.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • A detailed and updated CV highlighting educational background, work experience, academic publications (if any), and other relevant achievements

PhD Admission Requirements

  • Master’s Degree Qualification

    • A Master’s degree (M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., MBA, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.

    • A minimum of 60% (B grade or 3.5 CGPA on a 5.0 scale) or its equivalent in coursework and dissertation.

  • Academic Transcripts

    • Official academic transcripts from both undergraduate and postgraduate studies must be sent directly from the awarding institutions.

  • Research Proposal

    • A comprehensive research proposal (1,500–2,500 words) outlining:

      • Proposed topic and research questions

      • Objectives and significance of the study

      • Review of relevant literature

      • Methodology and expected outcomes

      • Alignment with the department’s research interests

  • English Language Proficiency

    • Required for applicants whose previous degrees were not taught in English. Acceptable scores include:

      • TOEFL: Minimum score of 90

      • IELTS: Minimum score of 7.0

      • Or equivalent certification

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • A current academic CV highlighting:

      • Educational background

      • Work and research experience

      • Publications, awards, and conference participation (if any)

  • Letters of Recommendation

    • Two or more letters from academic referees who can evaluate the applicant’s academic capacity, research potential, and character.

  • Application Procedure
    1. Complete the online PhD application form via the Poise University Postgraduate Portal.

    2. Upload all supporting documents.

    3. Pay the non-refundable application fee.

    4. Await communication from the School of Postgraduate Studies regarding interview and final decision.
